The association

Eurêka+ is an association created in 1985 and composed of several sections each led by volunteers. It has the objective of popularizing the scientific knowledge and techniques in order to develop actual scientific projects. The Space Section has approximately fifteen members between 12 and 23 years old. Weekly meetings take place during the school year on Fridays from 20h30 to 22h30. The section helps youngsters to construct aerospace projects (mini-rockets, experimental rockets, stratospheric balloons) which increasing complexity as the member gains experience.

Members start by building micro-rockets with cardboard and balsa wood, then progress to mini-rockets and finally produce experimental rockets for specific purposes.

The association participates in numerous events such as science fairs, a series of regional launchings, and the Festival des Clubs Espace (a convention of space clubs from all over France).

Eurêka+ is affiliated with Planète Sciences which oversees the operations of French amateur clubs and which has developed spatial activities for youngsters in France for over 40 years. Since 1969 Planète Sciences has organized rocket-launching meetings with the sanction and participation of the CNES (National Center of Spatial Studies) in order to ensure complete technical security.
